hunter pace - fall 2024 (date tba)

Come join us for a day spent exploring the beautiful hills of Tunbridge! Hunter Paces are based around the sport of foxhunting, but instead of chasing a pack of hounds through any and all terrain, a hunter pace follows a well-marked course - ensuring a fun and safe day for the rider and horse. Our course is roughly 4.5 miles long, and includes woods and fields, with optional jumps no higher than 2’3”. Riders enter for either the trail (no jumping) or jump class, and ride as teams - with a minimum of 2 riders per team and a maximum of 4. Another fun element is the hidden optimum time – the team finishing closest to that time wins. The trail class time will be slower than the jump class. Ribbons and prizes will be awarded.

We welcome you to use this day as a proper conditioning ride, imagining you are going cross country, or to enter the trail class to enjoy a more leisurely ride through our beautiful trails.

Please plan to arrive at the farm between 8:30 and 9:30 am on the day of the ride to check in and receive your ride time.

There is no dress code, though we certainly welcome proper hunt attire! An ASTM/SEI-approved hard hat is required when mounted. Limited stabling and horses for hire are available. $45 entry fee. Light food and drink will be provided and all are welcome to stay for a potluck lunch at our farmhouse following the ride!
